Meet
textile flower artist
Ayumi Okada

All works by artist Ayumi Okada, who specializes in flowers made from cloth, are handmade, from the process of cutting and dyeing fabric to giving the flower its specific shape. The dyeing technique is especially noteworthy, where she colors borders, gradation, dots and stripes, all freehand. By holding one of her flowers you can see its three-dimensionality, and you will be amazed by its grace. It’s one of Japan’s handicrafts that requires a lot of time and effort. How about ordering a beautiful gift for a special someone, or even yourself? Visit Ms. Okada at her atelier, and browse through a large collection of stunning flowers made from cloth.
